One long (but epic) cutscene cut into bite size chunks
Okay so this may not be seen as an anime because it’s created by RoosterTeeth, but it’s on Crunchyroll. Not a strong argument, but I’m reviewing it anyway but won’t (for balance) list it in the anime category.
I don’t know what made me want to watch RWBY. and I started it not thinking it much about it. I heard of the name and kept calling it R W B Y, but it’s pronounced ruby. You find out about this like a few episodes in and makes a lot of sense when you find out the name’s origin. Anyway, going into this without thinking of what to expect was a good idea (I do this with quite a lot of anime), and I really enjoyed it. Continue reading “RWBY”
16 again…with extra feels
I’ve seen 17 Again, and all I can say is, Zac Efron will look like Matthew Perry when he gets older, despite there being no resemblance whatsoever. But I do like the Audi R8 that features in the movie. Gotta love R8s.
There’s no link between 17 Again and Orange at all. So don’t get too excited/disappointed/whatever you feel about this because I just remembered 17 Again as I was watching this. Hence the subtitle.
Ok so, Orange. It’s a “change the past” type anime with ERASED and Anohana vibes to it. Like a lot, with almost as many feels as Anohana, but more animated characters than either of these anime. You’ll see what I mean. Continue reading “Orange”
For some reason I stayed away from this anime, but it was one worth waiting for.
Izumi Shinichi is our main character and victim of Parasyte (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu) which, as you would’ve guessed, concerns parasites. This supernatural species take the form of a green snake-like thing with a mini drill on its head, which seeks out humans in order to survive by taking over their brain. Shinichi comes across one when it enters his right hand, and stops it from going into his brain. As a result, it takes over his right arm and matures, complete with eyes and a mouth. It can also change its form so it can stand on its own and what not. Anyway, after 1-2 days, Shinichi somehow gets over the shock of having his right arm eaten away and replaced by this thing, and names it Migi (because it’s his right hand). Over time Shinichi learns more about Migi’s kind and what they’re capable of, whilst Migi learns more about humans through research and talking to Shinichi. Continue reading “Parasyte -the maxim-“
